About

I'm Rachel, your winery's export manager

Years of experience managing wine shipping and export taught me one thing: a bottle of wine is not just another box in a container. It is a delicate product, sensitive to heat and to time, and behind it stand people who put a full year of work into it. A shipment that travels badly does not reveal itself at the port. It reveals itself when someone abroad opens the bottle.

That is why I chose to specialise in wine and nothing else. I work with wineries of every size, from boutique producers to large wineries, across the whole export process: coordinating with shipping lines, customs brokers, forwarders, laboratories and authorities, making sure every document is accurate before it is filed, and that every shipment arrives in the condition it left in. You get one address, personal and available, not a case number at a call centre.

The process

Wine export in 6 steps, from the winery to the customer abroad

This is what wine export looks like when one person holds all the threads. At every stage you know where things stand, what comes next and when, without chasing anyone.

1

Order and planning

We sit down together, work out where the wine is going and under what conditions, and build a structured export plan that fits the winery and the shipment.

2

Collection from the winery

We schedule the loading with the forwarder so the bottles leave the winery on time and in the right conditions.

3

Documents and customs

I prepare and check every export document, from the export declaration and certificate of origin to the packing list and commercial invoice, and coordinate with the customs broker so everything is in order before the container moves. A document corrected at the port costs far more than one checked at the winery.

4

Temperature and transport

We arrange storage and transport conditions that protect the wine from heat and damage, because the right temperature is the difference between wine that arrives perfect and wine that arrives spoiled.

5

Sailing and tracking

From the moment the shipment leaves I track it in real time, and you always know where it is.

6

Delivery at destination

I follow the shipment through to actual delivery in the US, Canada or Europe, and handle any problem on the way before it becomes an issue.

Services

Wine export services for wineries: what I actually do for you

Everything needed to get a wine shipment out of the winery and to its destination, held by one person. Without splitting the process between four suppliers, none of whom sees the full picture.

01

End-to-end wine export management

From the moment the order comes in until the shipment is delivered abroad, one person holds the process. You are not chasing the customs broker, not mediating between the shipping line and the carrier, and not finding out late that something was not filed on time. Everything goes through me, and you get one clear picture at every stage.

02

Coordination with customs brokers, shipping lines and authorities

Shipping lines, customs brokers, carriers, laboratories and regulatory authorities, each working at their own pace and with their own paperwork. I speak all of their languages, synchronise between them and make sure everyone meets the same schedule. That is the difference between a shipment that catches the planned sailing and one that waits two weeks for the next.

03

Loading planning and collection scheduling

I build the timeline backwards, from the sailing date to the collection day at the winery, and coordinate the carrier, the container and the loading slot. The wine leaves on time, without last-minute pressure and without missing a sailing because an approval arrived one day late.

04

Preparing and reviewing export documentation

Commercial invoice, packing list, export declaration through the Sha'ar Olami system, certificate of origin, EUR.1, VI-1 for EU destinations and any further certificates the destination requires. I prepare, check and cross-check every document before filing, because one wrong line can hold a full container at the port and cost you in storage, demurrage and a disappointed customer on the other side.

05

Transport in conditions that suit wine

Wine is not a box of screws. Heat, vibration and long waits on a quay can damage an entire batch without anyone noticing, until the bottle is opened abroad. I set the shipping method and temperature conditions with you, arrange a reefer container where needed, and cut down waiting times along the way.

06

Tracking, updates and problem solving

From loading through to actual delivery I track the shipment and update you on my own initiative, without you having to ask. And when something goes wrong, and something always does, I am already on it: spotting it early, resolving it with whoever is responsible, and coming to you with the solution rather than just the problem.

Why me

Why wineries choose an export manager, not just a customs broker

Many parties handle your shipment. Only one person is accountable for it. That is me.

One accountable person, not a call centre

You are not passed between representatives and not re-explaining your story on every call. You have one address, personal and available, who knows your shipment inside out and takes full responsibility for it.

Wine only

I am not a general customs broker who exports everything from screws to furniture. I live and breathe wine export, and I know exactly how sensitive the product is, what it needs in terms of temperature, and how kosher and non-kosher wine are regulated in different markets.

A published price, not a quote

Almost nobody in this industry publishes a price. Mine is written on the site, below, before we have even spoken. No small print, no "it depends", and no surprise at the end of the month. You know exactly what you are paying for, and that is part of the peace of mind I bring with me.

Pricing

What it costs, and what it saves you

Almost nobody in this industry publishes a price, because it "always depends". I believe trust starts with a visible number, so the prices are written here, before the first conversation. Choose the track that fits your export volume. All prices exclude VAT.

Per shipment

A price known in advance for every shipment

from ILS 2,200 + VAT

For wineries exporting regularly who want to price the shipment up front, with no surprises on the invoice.

  • Includes up to 6 hours of work on the shipment
  • Additional hours beyond that: ILS 300 + VAT
  • Covers every stage: planning, documents, coordination, tracking and delivery
  • Applies to one shipment, one supplier and one destination. Anything more complex we price together in advance
Hourly

Full flexibility, as needed

ILS 300 + VAT per hour

For one-off tasks: checking documents before filing, advice ahead of a new destination, or partial support for a shipment already under way.

  • One hour minimum
  • Full transparency on hours worked
  • Can be combined with the per-shipment track as needed

The prices above cover my management and support services only. They do not include fees, levies, or payments to shipping lines, customs brokers, laboratories or any third party. Those you pay directly to the relevant parties, and I will of course oversee and review them for you as well.

Not sure which track fits you? Tell me about the shipment and I will tell you honestly.

FAQ

Common questions about exporting wine from Israel

A customs broker handles the customs side with the authorities. That is an important role, but it is one part of a larger process. I manage the whole picture for you: coordinating between the customs broker, the shipping line, the carrier, the laboratories and the authorities, making sure the wine is kept in the right conditions, tracking the shipment through to delivery, and acting as a single accountable point of contact for the entire process. In other words, you get a personal export manager, not only a customs service.
Yes. I am not a licensed customs broker and I do not replace one. The export declaration is filed by a licensed customs broker. The difference is that you do not have to manage them: I help you choose the right broker, hand over documents already checked and ready, and make sure they meet the sailing schedule. If you already have a customs broker you are happy with, that is fine, I will work with them.
The core documents are a commercial invoice, a packing list, an export declaration filed through the Sha'ar Olami system, and a certificate of origin or EUR.1 depending on the destination and the applicable trade agreements. Health certificates or a kosher certificate are sometimes required as well. I prepare, check and review every document so the shipment does not get held up.
Exporting wine to the European Union may require a VI-1 form, a certificate of analysis confirming the wine complies with EU oenological requirements. The requirement is not uniform: it depends on the destination country, the type of wine and the trade agreements in place, and it has changed in recent years. For each shipment I check what is actually required for that specific destination, arrange testing at an accredited laboratory where needed, and make sure the form is ready before sailing rather than after.
There are two tracks. The per-shipment track starts at ILS 2,200 plus VAT and includes up to 6 hours of work, and the hourly track is ILS 300 plus VAT per hour. Prices do not include payments to third parties such as shipping lines and customs brokers. Everything is published openly on the pricing section.
Not always. It depends on the destination, the season, the length of the voyage and the type of wine. A summer shipment through a hot route is a different matter from a winter one. We look at each shipment separately and decide what is right: a reefer container, different sailing timing, or a combination of the two. The extra cost of refrigeration is almost always smaller than the cost of a batch that arrives damaged.
It depends on the destination, the shipping method and sailing availability. Sea freight to Europe or North America usually takes several weeks from loading to delivery. I build a realistic timeline with you up front, so you know what to expect and can commit to your own customers with confidence.
Send me a message on WhatsApp with the name of the winery, where the wine is going and roughly when. We will set up a short call, I will understand the picture, and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right fit for you and on which track. There is no cost for the call and no obligation afterwards.
Get in touch

Let's talk about your shipment

Tell me where your wine is going and when, and we will work out together how to make the export simple, safe and calm. No cost, no obligation, just a good conversation between wine people. If I am not the right fit for you, I will tell you openly.

  • A short message is enough: winery name, destination, roughly when
  • A short intro call, no cost and no obligation
  • If it is not a fit, I will say so openly
